Queen of Peace graduates are well-prepared for an increasingly global world reliant on the latest technologies.
Integrating Technology into Curriculum
The goal of the Queen of Peace 1-to-1 Laptop Initiative is to integrate technology seamlessly into the classroom to support learning in a standards-based curriculum. This state-of-the-art tool provides a variety of new ways to learn and fosters independent thinking, problem solving, and collaborative learning – all highly desirable skills in today’s expanding global marketplace.
Using their school-issued laptops, students can test scientific theories with simulators, discover ways to prove ideas using multimedia, and collect environmental data through hands-on experiments. In addition, students will use the Internet to experience the world through virtual field trips and will have immediate access to prove a point of view. They will also exercise their creativity with software applications in art, writing, music and more. All of these opportunities mean using technology as a powerful tool to enrich content learning.
