1960 - The Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters were invited to build and staff a high school for young women on a 15-acre tract of land located near the southwest side of the city of Chicago.
1962 - The Sinsinawa Dominicans founded Queen of Peace High School.
1963 - September, Queen of Peace began classes in its own facility with 420 freshman and 390 sophomores.
1963 - November 21, Queen of Peace laid its cornerstone.
2012 - Queen of Peace celebrated the school’s 50th anniversary bringing students, families, faculty, alumnae, and the community together to honor the traditions and values that have made Queen of Peace a leader in education for young women over the last half-century.
That tradition continues today paving the way for a new generation and is the basis for the next chapter in the school’s history.
